Soha Ali Khan to be the female lead in Sunny Deol’s Ghayal Returns
Held long enough in limbo, the sequel to Sunny Deol’s 1990 blockbuster Ghayal has been finally found itself taking shape. While the film was announced years back amid great enthusiasm, it never really found the floors to get started. But according to reports, the film just recently went into production with actress Soha Ali Khan as the female lead.
Ghayal Returns has been getting troubled with some or the other delay. While as many three directors have come in to replace each other, writer Piyush Mishra too opted out in between. The film was first set to be directed by Ashwini Chaudhry who was later replaced by Rahul Rawail until Sunny himself had to come in to helm. The 1990 hit that won Sunny the best actor filmfare award, was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
Though Soha’s character will not be anywhere close to the role played by Meenakshi Sheshadri in the original, she will still be the only female lead in the film which will otherwise be dominated by Sunny Deol himself. The film is expected to release in the later part of 2015.
