If you have played Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series on Playstation, it is time to get hyped! Actor Tom Holland, the young star who is already the lead of a Sony property — Spider-Man— will now be playing the role of young Nathan Drake, the protagonist of the Uncharted video game series.

The adaptation that was planned several years ago had seen its fair share of shuffle between directors and had finally bagged director Shawn Levy last year. Now, it is ready to move forward with this fresh casting. Levy, who is known for movies like Real Steel and Night at the Museum, is expected to deliver a film that will serve as a prequel/origin story of the game’s globetrotting and treasure hunting protagonist, Nathan Drake.

The movie is expected to borrow heavily from a sequence in the third iteration of the video game — Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception— that focused on the young thief Drake, and his first encounter with the professional rogue (and soon to be father figure and mentor), Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan.

Here is a gameplay from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception that shows young Nathan Drake, and Victor Sullivan:

Much like Spider-Man: Homecoming, where a young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is mentored by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr), Uncharted too is speculated to take on a similar tone, exploring the father-son like relationship between Drake and Sully.
