‘Stop Talking Rubbish About Shah Rukh Khan’: Anupam Kher

After Shah Rukh Khan supported the cause of “growing intolerance” in the country, he came under attack from BJP leaders. A major controversy has triggered after politicians called him a Pakistani. Anupam Kher, SRK’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge co-star has slammed the politicians for their controversial remarks on Twitter.

The 60-year-old actor, who has previously slammed the filmmakers for returning their national awards over FTII row and “rising intolerance” in the country, has smashed the BJP leaders for their controversial comments this time. In a tweet, Anupam Kher wrote, “Some members of the BJP really need to control their tongue & stop talking rubbish about @iamsrk. He is a national icon & We r PROUD of him”.

The controversy evolved after BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya called the King Khan “anti-nationalist” and further said that his “soul” is in Pakistan. Thereafter, Hindutva leader Sadhvi Prachi called the Bollywood superstar a “Pakistani agent”. Yogi Adityanath also compared the 50-year old actor to Pakistani terrorist Hafiz Saeed.
