Sudhir’s Pyaas begins in Lucknow
Hazaaron Khwaaishein Aisi director Sudhir Mishra has begun work for his upcoming venture Pyaas. According to sources, Pyaas is supposed to be a love story with a political angle attached to it. Thesuspense story is said to be based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel Devdas and the filmmaker has apparently found his Paroand ChandramukhiinRicha Chadda and Aditi Rao respectively.
Sudhir Mishra took to micro-blogging website to inform about his project. “Shootin in 6 days. "Pyaas": a film Abt d addiction of power .D script has evolved beautifully . May d godess of cinema bless me !”, he tweeted.
A source close to the unit says, "Richa fit the bill as far as the requirements for Paro went - he wanted someone fiery, yet dignified. And having worked with Aditi in 'Yeh Saali ZIndagi', he was aware that she is a trained Indian classical dancer and would be perfect as his Chandramukhi. Also, he had a particular personality and look in mind for both roles."
In a recent interview, Sudhir talked about the movie and describes it as, "a political thriller with very strong romantic angles to it" was his "tribute to Devdas" but added that it owed as much to the "influence of William Shakespeare" on him "in the Indian political drama" maintaining that it was "certainly not a remake of Devdas".
Also starring Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Vineet Singh and Anurag Kashyap, the thriller flick will mostly be shot in Sudhir’s hometown Lucknow.
