Sujoy Ghosh clears the air: No film with Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandez right now

Rumours don’t rattle Sujoy Ghosh much. However, the filmmaker says that his family gets upset every time anything wrong gets reported in the media. So, recently, when stories started doing rounds that actor Alia Bhatt had rejected his script, Sujoy says that his family asked him if there was a problem between Alia and him.

“It was just a friendly meeting with Alia. We didn’t discuss any script. Can’t I even meet people and chat? And how could I even offer her a script when I don’t have one ready at the moment. I am just working on it. So there is no question of her rejecting it,” asserts Sujoy.

When asked if he has had a word with Alia regarding the rumour, he adds, “I guess we both are grown-ups to avoid giving importance to such [baseless] rumours. But the problem is that such wrong news affects my family. My mother and wife thought that something must have gone wrong between me and Alia, and that’s why she didn’t want to work with me. So, I had to explain everything to them.”

Sujoy says that he, by all means, wants to put an end to all the rumours that he is working with either Alia or Jacqueline Fernandez. “My script will take some time to finish. So once that happens I will think about the cast. At the moment, it’s in the nascent stage. Hence, there is nothing much to talk about. Alia is a stupendous actor and I would love to work with her. But there is nothing on the cards currently. Also, there is no film with Jacqueline right now. She is a friend and working with her again would be a pleasure,” adds Sujoy, who earlier worked with Jacqueline in Aladin (2009).
