Sunil Shetty Is Optimistic About ‘Hera Pheri 3’

‘Hera Pheri’ which released in the year 2000 was a cult movie. The movie starring Sunil Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Pareesh Rawal made everyone roll into laughter. Paresh Rawal’s comic antics as ‘Babu bhai’ was loved by all. The movie is seen even today by people.

The love of audience led the makers to make the second part which was also a hit. Though plans of making the third instalment are nowhere as of now but Sunil Shetty who played an innocent Shyam in both the parts hopes to act in the third part. He said that the third part may become possible if the original writer Neeraj Vora gets back to his feet. Neeraj suffered a massive stroke last October and has bed-ridden since then.

"Hera Pheri is a huge franchise, one of the first few films to have had a successful sequel (Phir Hera Pheri, 2006). All the characters — Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel) and Babu bhai (Paresh Rawal) — have stayed with the audience and there is a brand recall. As co-stars too, we get along like a house on fire. We must make it [part 3] for fans,” said the 55-year-old actor in an interview with mid-day.

There were reports of Neeraj working on the third part of the blockbuster, however it got delayed after he suffered a stroke. It was also reported that the shooting of the movie will begin by the end of 2016. Rumours were doing the rounds that John Abraham, Neha Sharma and Abhishek Bachchan may star in Hera Pheri 3 after pictures of them which were believed to be from the first schedule surfaced last year.
