I Was Star-Struck And Couldn't Believe It: Taapsee Pannu On Meeting Salman Khan On The Sets Of Judwaa 2

Having worked with actor Amitabh Bachchan in Pink (2016) and Akshay Kumar in this year’s Naam Shabana, actor Taapsee Pannu is definitely not new to starry vibes. However, the Delhi girl was in for a pleasant surprise when she got to meet Salman Khan while wrapping up the shooting for her upcoming film Judwaa 2. Salman joined the cast of the film for a cameo shoot and Varun Dhawan, who is reprising Khan’s role from the 2000 hit film Judwaa, took to Instagram to share a picture too.

Asked how it was to meet Salman, Taapsee says, “I had seen and heard so much of him that for a second, I was just taken aback and remained in awe of him. I just kept looking and couldn’t take my eyes off him. It was that crazy star-struck moment for me. I was just trying to fathom the fact that he was standing there, right next to me and in the same frame.”

Interestingly, Taapsee was the only one —from the cast and crew of Judwaa 2—who had never met Salman before. Varun knows Salman since his childhood days, and Jacuqueline Fernandez has worked with the actor in Kick. “I was meeting him [Salman] for the first time and it was too brief a meeting, so it was more like an introduction, greeting each other, couple of minutes of chatting with the entire team together and then just got a picture clicked together,” shares Taapsee, adding that, “Whenever I meet him next time, maybe, I would talk to him with ease.”

Whether there were any words of appreciation for her past films or performances, Taapsee adds, “We didn’t really have all those conversations. The only time we talked, there was a bunch of us from the entire cast and crew in the room, chatting together and sharing some funny anecdotes from the past experiences of shooting for Judwaa.”

So what were these fun conversations?“He was basically talking about how he has memories with David [Dhawan] and Sajid [Nadiadwala] sir, since their equation dates back to so many years. He was giggling while talking about some off the set experiences and funny situations that they have had two decades ago while shooting for Judwaa,” she says.
