Talvar, Film Based on Aarushi Talwar to Premiere at TIFF

Talvar, the film which is based on the true life events of Aarushi Talwar, will make its world premiere at the 40^th Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF will take place between September 10 and 20. The film is selected by the members of the film festival to be premiered under the category of ‘Special Presentations’.  Talvar will also compete for People’s Choice Award at the festival.

The Meghna Gulzar directorial stars Avika Gor as Aarushi Talwar, Irrfan Khan as Khooni naukar, Konkona Sen Sharma as Nupur Talwar and Tabu as Police Officer. The film is an investigative drama story based on the Noida double murder case. Reportedly, incidents from the 2008 murder case has been fictionally dramatised in the film. Pankaj Kumar has done the cinematography for the film while Gulzar has penned the lyrics.

Vishal Bhardwaj, who has composed music for the film, is quite excited for the premiere of Talvar. He told IANS, “I am ecstatic! I had visited the Toronto film festival for ‘Maqbool’ and will now be taking ‘Talvar’ there. We are glad to premiere it at such a prestigious event”.
