Welcome Back features ‘two most challenging sequences in my career’, says Kabir Lal

Kabir Lal, who has just wrapped up the shoot of Welcome Back, is very excited about the film. Talking about the sequel, he said, “It's been the most thrilling 24 months of my life as I got to film two of the most challenging sequences in my career. The first is the opening shot and second comes post the interval”.

Burj khalifa, will feature in the first shot of the film. “I mounted a helicam on the window of the chopper and shot the opening sequence of Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar as Manju Pandey and Uday Shetty walking out of the building, head held high”, said the cinematographer. The second sequence has John Abraham and Shruti Haasan who fall in love and face the fury of Middle Eastern don Naseeruddin Shah. About the second challenging sequence, Kabir said, “We filmed inside the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi which passes for the don's haveli in the film. I imagined John as the simpleton who is trying to battle a united mob. Like the earlier film, one of my favourites, I kept the colour scheme bright and the costumes brighter”.

It is said that the cinematographer was waiting for a big budget, larger than life entertainer from a very long time and when he met Anees Bazmee at a party, he asked the producer to give him a film like No Entry and Singh Is King. That is when the director signed Kabir for Welcome Back. The film, which was previously supposed to release last year is nowexpected to in July.
