    Legendary director Yash Chopra, who died suddenly yesterday evening due to multiple-organ failure, has been laid to rest at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle this afternoon. Though theKing of Romance’santim yatrahas been cancelled off to avoid traffic problems, Bollywood celebrities from every generation thronged the Yash Raj Studios at suburban Andheri to pay their last respects to the 80-year-old iconic filmmaker. His body covered in white flowers was kept on the stage number 3 of the studio for public visit.

    His body was taken to the crematorium in an ambulance and Yashji’s family members- sons Aditya Chopra, Uday Chopra and wife Pamela Chopra -- accompanied his body. Besides, industry big-wigs like Shahrukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Shahid with father Pankaj Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Kajol, Prem Chopra, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vipul Shah, Abbas Mastan, Ramesh Sippy, Gulzar, Subhash Ghai, Shyam Benegal, Saroj Khan, David Dhawan, Rishi Kapoor, son Ranbir, Randhir Kapoor and Rekha, hundreds of fans also gathered at the YRF studio since the morning. A source said, “There was bottle neck congestion anticipated which could've disrupted traffic, hence a decision to carry the body by an ambulance was taken." The source added, "To avoid traffic, the family had kept the gates open for Yash chopra's fans from 9 Am for his finaldarshan.Chopra was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital on October 13 after he was diagnosed with dengue.
