    The Croods, DreamWorks 3D animation film has paid back the loss of its last releaseRise of the Guardians. Well, that’s a good news for the animationstudio as its latest 3D venture has earned themmore than $331 million in the second consecutive week.

    The Croodspicked 34.1 million from 62 markets to raise its international total to $206.8 million. In its opening weekend, the film grossed $43.6 million from the box office. Because of the favourable response from the critics, it became the second film this year to reach the mark of $300 million at a global level. Before this, Disney’sOz the Great and Powerfulbecame the first film to earn $454 million this year.

    Voices for the characters have been given by Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman. Other films in the pipeline are Paramount’sG.I. Joe: Retaliation, a 3D toy soldier sequel, fetched $40.2 million from 61 foreign markets and Warner Bros.’sJack the Giant Slayergained $178 million worldwide.
