    Sony’s animated flick 'The Angry Birds Movie' has seen an opening weekend of $39 million domestically. The movie, directed by Clay Kaytis, Fergal Reilly has pooled in $151 million worldwide. Based on the popular mobile game Angry Birds, the movie has characters voiced by Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride and Bill Hader.

    ‘Captain America: Civil War’ was not far behind with its $33 million. The movie, running on its third weekend, has crossed the $1 billion mark with its $1.05 billion overall earnings. It has become the most successful film of 2016. ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ saw an opening weekend of $21 million. The Nick Stoller directorial stars Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Chloe Moretz. The movie has pooled in $51.7 million worldwide.

    Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe’s ‘The Nice Guys’ saw an opening of $11.2 million over the weekend. The movie has been directed by Shane Black. Jon Favreau’s ‘The Jungle Book’ has passed ‘Money Monster’ and gained a place in the top five list with its $11 million. The overall earnings for the animated flick have reached $857 million.
