Argo, Les Miserables emerge biggest winners at Golden Globe
While Steven Spielberg's Civil War epicLincolnis much ahead in race by getting 12 nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards, it was Tom Hooper’s Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried starrerLes Miserableswhich stole the show at Sunday's 70th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony. Whereas, actor-director Ben Affleck’s Iran hostage thrillerArgoalso emerged as a big winner by grabbing best drama and best director awards.Les Miserables, which is based on Victor Hugo's classic novel of the same name, won best musical or comedy award and actors Jackman and Hathaway received acting prizes. An elated Hathaway responded after winning the award, saying "Thank you for this lovely blunt object that I will forevermore use as a weapon against self-doubt". While Jackman, who has recently recovered from the flu, said, "I was kicking myself for not getting the flu shot, but it appears that you don't need one. I feel great".Argodirector Affleck, who didn’t receive an Oscar nomination, stated, "Look, I don't care what the award is.
