Biopic on Martin Luther King to have a limited release this Christmas

Here comes some great news for Hollywood movie buffs. Selma, the biopic on Martin Luther King’s life, will reportedly release in a limited number of theatres on December 25, days before its major release on January 9, 2015.

This David Oyelowo-Tom Wilkinson starrer is being directed by Middle of Nowhere helmer Ava DuVernay. While Oyelowo will enact the lead role in the film of the civil rights’ fighter, this film also stars Oprah Winfrey who will be seen as Annie Lee Cooper, another civil rights icon who is known for her protests in favour of voting. The cast of the film also includes Cuba Gooding Jr. and Tim Roth. Winfrey also revealed that King’s co-worker Maya Angelou showered her blessings over this Paramount Pictures film before her last breath.
