Brad Bird to direct Incredibles 2

The Incredibles director Brad Bird has revealed that he is going to be directing Inceredibles 2, reported by TheHollywoodReporter. The 57-year-old director told Collider that he already written some pages for the script of the sequel. "I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like", he said. "I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit, and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie", he added.

Bird is currently focusing on the release of his latest film Tomorrowland. The film is slated for release on May 22. After, which the director will start working on the Incredibles sequel. Brad Bird is also in negotiations with Lucasfilm about the chance to direct one of the Star Wars movies. The Incredibles earned over $630 million at the box office worldwide and also won two Oscars.

"I was particularly attracted to the idea of picking up [a film in the franchise], and J.J. [Abrams] got very excited about the notion of shaping the next trilogy, and that idea was interesting to me too", Bird said. "But I'm writing [the Incredibles sequel], and I can't think too much farther beyond that. I have other things I want to do as well", he added.
