Looks like Kathryn Bigelow’s long awaited project ‘Triple Frontier’ is finally seeing some progress in the right direction. Recently, it was revealed that Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy were being eyed for a role in the project. Now, sources have told Variety that Tatum has officially closed his deal to star in the film which has been in talks for around a decade.

The sources have also reported that Hardy is in the final negotiating stage of the deal. Over the years, there have been several changes in the project which include J.C. Chandor replacing Bigelow as director and many actors who have been attached and detached from the project. Mark Boal has been with the idea since the start and is still serving as writer and producer.

Also producing the South American crime thriller will be Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. ‘Triple Frontier’ focuses on the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. This area is particularly hard to monitor and is thus, infamously known as a haven for organized crime.

Currently, the project that was supposed to be Boal and Bigelow’s follow-up to ‘The Hurt Locker’, does not have a release date.
