Slaughterhouse-Five is a novel written by Kurt Vonnegut about World War II experiences and journeys through time of a warrior. And, Mexican filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro is willing to take inspiration from the novel and make an onscreen adaptation of it via a flick. The maker has joined hands with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’s writer, Charlie Kaufman to write the screenplay for him, though lot of pre-production work is there to be done before getting started with the filming.

Guillermo said, “Charlie and I talked for about an hour-and-a-half and came up with a perfect way of doing the book. I love the idea of the Tralfamadorians to be ‘unstuck in time,’ where everything is happening at the same time. And that’s what I want to do.” He added, “It’s just a catch-22. The studio [Universal] will make it when it’s my next movie, but how can I commit to it being my next movie until there’s a screenplay? Charlie Kaufman is a very expensive writer.” We wish the duo the best to bring out the adaptation as amazing as the written piece.
