Corin Hardy Talks Opened Up About Creating Horror In His Films

Yes, it is true that CGI makes a scary movie really scary but direction matters more. And filmmaker Corin Hardy will make you think so. Corin, who helmed the 2015 horror film ‘The Hallow’, did not believe in using a lot of CGI to make his films scary.

The filmmaker’s latest outing is the ‘The Nun’ which is a prequel to ‘The Conjuring’ Series. He recently said, “I try to keep things as authentic as possible. I use CG when necessary, but I am a fan of trying to do things for real as much as possible on camera. I want the film to be a grounded atmospheric movie, heightened through the terror. But if it feels real, that can also transmute through the actors, the performances and the scares”.

The director talks about the characters of Conjuring 2 and said, “What I liked in Conjuring 2 was that there was no explanation for the demonic nun. But she instantly strikes a chord as being someone terrifying in the way she looks and behaves. We have tried to investigate the origin story of this demonic entity”.
