Dave Franco Talks About Auditioning For Young Han Solo

The upcoming Star Wars story film based on Han Solo is currently looking for the lead actor to play the young intergalactic smuggler. The team has shortlisted Jack Reynor, Taron Egerton, Emory Cohen, Dave Franco and Alden Ehrenreich. Now You See Me actor Dave Franco recently opened up about auditioning for the iconic role.

The 30-year-old actor spoke with MTV News and shared, “Everyone’s coming up and being like, ‘Dude, what’s going on?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know. You know as much as me’. I don’t want to underplay it, like, I’m very flattered to have been or to be whatever, wherever they are in the conversation, but, like, it is what it is".

Dave feels that casting the character is quite hard as it is uncertain what the role requires. “I think that’s the reason it’s so hard to cast this role, too. It’s like, do they want to like perfectly embody who Harrison Ford is, or do they want to go a completely different route? Do they want someone to look really similar him? So, I don’t know, I think they’re struggling with that, maybe”, he stated. The Han Solo film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
