Deadpool 2 Director David Leitch To Helm Fast And Furious Spinoff

Latest news reveals that Universal's yet to be titled Fast and Furious spinoff, mostly focused on Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s characters might be directed by David Leitch. The director had earlier helmed Deadpool 2 and is in talks to direct this film next according to reports in Variety. Also, Johnson and Statham will be reprising their roles of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in the film.

Moreover, Universal decided to develop the spin-off after seeing Hobbs and Statham’s character in The Fate of the Furious of the franchise. The film is set to hit the screens on July 26, 2019. Also, Leitch had helmed Theron action movie Atomic Blonde after which he was roped in to direct Deadpool 2.

Meanwhile, the film’s plot details are not yet clear and it has been changing throughout the years. The film is set to go on floors in August so that Leitch has time to meet and discuss the project with all parties and see where the story is going. If things materialise, the film will be helmed by Leitch.
