    Don Cheadle roped in for lead role in jazz pioneer Miles Davis’ biopic

    It has been reported that Talk to Me actor Don Cheadle will be playing Miles Davis in the much-awaited biopic of the original jazz developer. The biopic, titled Kill the Trumpet Player, will be reportedly sponsored and produced by BiFrost Pictures. Cheadle will also make his directorial debut with this long-planned biopic.

    Since quite a long time Cheadle has been planning and conceptualizing to make the film. Finally the project is set to undergo production in June, 2014. As told by the production company the film will have its focus on the time-period of Davis’ life when he temporarily took his retirement from composing music and returned in 1979. The script has been jointly penned by Cheadle and Steven Baigelman. The film will also star Ewan McGregor and Zoe Saldana who will play the roles of a Rolling Stone reporter and the trumpet player’s former wife Frances Davis, respectively. The collaborator of Davis, Herbie Hancock, will also get actively involved in the film’s production.
