Remember the days of Rampage; destroying cities and military forces by controlling colossal monsters. Dwayne Johnson will try to recreate a similar appeal in the cinematic adaptation of the 1986 arcade videogame. According to Deadline, the movie will be produced by Beau Flynn and New Line Cinema, the team which was responsible for San Andreas.

The plot of the movie is currently unclear. Presumably, Dwayne will play the role of a veteran working as a trolley-car operator. He was issued a DD (Dishonourable Discharge) from the Special Forces and is trying to earn a living along with his wife, played by Maria Bello and daughter Nicola Peltz. As the monsters start attacking the city, he decides to fight back. Dwayne is excited for the movie and expects to get the best filmmakers for the project.

The script of the adaptation will be written by Ryan Engle (Non-Stop script writer). The filming of the Rampage flick is most likely to start next summer and it might hit the screens in 2017. ‘The Rock’ has several projects lined up for the next year including a sequel to the movie ‘Journey’, an action-comedy titled ‘Central Intelligence’, and most probably the next part in the Fast and Furious franchise.
