Ed Sheeran’s Only Competition Is Adele

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran says Adele is the only person he needs to sell more records than. He considers her a benchmark and feels that he has to top her music sales. Ed is known for his songs ‘I see fire’, 'Thinking out loud’ and the more recent tracks ‘Shape of you’ and ‘Castle on the hill’.

“Adele is the one person who's sold more records than me in the past ten years. She's the only person I need to sell more records than. That's a big feat because her last album sold 20 million. But if I don't set her as the benchmark then I'm selling myself short”, Ed shared. Seems like some healthy competition persists between the two, which is not bad at all.

Adele released her first single when she was just 19-years-old. She shot to fame with her second studio album ‘21’ which featured the song ‘Rolling in the deep’. On the other hand, Sheeran made a sensation with his feature debut single ‘The A team’ which was part of his Loose Change EP. On January 13, the singer set a record as he became the first artist to have number one and number two positions on the UK Singles Chart.
