First Official The Mummy Trailer Released!

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming Tom Cruise starrer ‘The Mummy’. The movie stars Annabelle Wallis as the female lead and Sofia Boutella as an ancient princess. 'The Mummy' has been directed by Alex Kurtzman.

The trailer shows some intense action sequences and reveals a few details on the plot. The ancient queen Ahmanet, whose destiny was taken from her, is awakened and is ready to take all that is hers. The movie is based in modern-day London and is a new take on the Mummy franchise which was first made into a feature film in 1932 by Karl Freund.

The cast for ‘The Mummy’ also includes Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel will be producing the project alongside Kurtzman. The movie will be released on June 9 next year.

Cruise was last seen in ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’. The movie performed averagely at the box office.
