Kurt Cobain was found dead at his home in Seattle on April 5, 1994. Police ruled his death a suicide as he died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound. Nirvana, with Cobain as songwriter, has sold over 75 million records worldwide. Cobain was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

HBO will be releasing the first ever fully-authorized documentary about the rocker entitled, “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck”. The film - slated for release on May 4 and helmed by Brett Morgen - tracks Cobain’s life from his upbringing in Aberdeen, through his rise to fame and violent death.
