Hollywood releases this weekend: After Earth, Now You See Me and much more
This is going to be a great weekend for cine-goers as two big releases are slated for this weekend in Hollywood, After Earth and Now You See Me. The father-son duo of Will Smith and Jaden Smith will hit the silver screen with some magical performances in M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth.
After Earth is surely the frontrunner this week with its interesting plot as the father and son become residents of a new planet named Nova Prime, after they are forced to leave Earth following some disastrous events. Will plays a leader at par with the Rangers, titled General Cypher Raige. To share a special bond with his son Kitai Raige, the General decides to explore space. But destiny takes its own turn and their airship crashes on a lonely planet where they are forced to survive amid the hostilities.
On the other hand Jesse Eisenberg-starrer Now You See Me is all about an FBI agent and an Interpol spy who start following a group of illusionists, who are basically bank robbers. This movie is not expected to make a huge mark at the box-office records, though. The other releases include The East with environmental-justice theme, The Kings of Summer which revolves around 3 teenagers seeking freedom, Shadow Dancer- a thriller, Hannah Arendt – the biopic of the great writer and philosopher Hannah Arendt, American Mary- a horror film and Student- an updated story to the classic piece of literature Crime and Punishment.
