After making his first appearance in ‘The Avengers’ (2012), Thanos hasn’t really got any significant screen time. The character is the Avengers’ most powerful enemy and is seeking the Infinity Stones. Being such a powerful being, you might think that he would make an appearance soon enough but Marvel has other plans. Thanos will be the main antagonist in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ which is the last film in Marvel’s Phase Three.

According to Huffington Post, Stephen McFeely stated, “[Thanos]. It’s easy. Really giving him good scenes. You know, he’s never been the villain in any of the movies. He’s never been the main character in that way, so giving lots of good screen time to Thanos is paramount and pretty fun….He hasn’t had an amazing scene. I think it’s an advantage ultimately, right? Because people are anticipating this guy coming in and really delivering the goods. So, I think they’re eager, and we just have to deliver it. We don’t have to convince them that he’s gonna be interesting. We just have to execute what has been teased”.

Reports have stated that Avengers: Infinity War might have as many as 67 characters, possibly even more. To this, McFeely said, “We had our office filled with cards of everybody who was alive and available, and the brothers (Anthony and Joe Russo) came in and went, ‘Whoa, There’s not going to be 67 lead parts”. ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will be divided into two parts with Part 1 releasing on May 4, 2018 and Part 2 releasing on May 3, 2019.
