Birdman actress Emma Stone recently spoke about the pay disparity in Hollywood and stated that she is lucky enough to be paid the same as her male co-stars. In an interview with Vogue magazine, the actress shared that she feels weird discussing things like who the audience wants to see more, when it comes to demanding remuneration. Emma will next be seen in ‘La La Land’ alongside Ryan Gosling.

Emma feels that everyone in the industry should be treated fairly and that she has been “lucky enough to have equal pay” as her male counterparts. She added that the industry quantifies things by how much does the audience want to see the male lead, as compared to the female lead. “I felt uncomfortable talking to my agent or lawyer about it because I was like, ‘Do people want to see me as much as they want to see Steve Carell?’ It’s a weird conversation to have because it’s trying to see oneself from the outside”, the actress explained.

Emma has several projects lined up for next year. They include ‘Battle of the Sexes’, ‘Letters from Rosemary’, ‘Cruella’, ‘The Favourite’ and a few others. Her upcoming film with Ryan Gosling will be released on December 16.
