Jacki Weaver Backs Ex-husband’s Senator Bid

Veteran actress Jacki Weaver may be busy shooting with Jack Black for Wild Oats, but the Petersen star is taking some time out for politics. No, she is not entering into politics, however, she has always been open about her political opinion and this time she is supporting her ex-husband, Derryn Hinch, bid for senate seat. The actress from the Silver Linings Playbook shared her take on the upcoming Federal Election and on Derryn.

“I think he will make a terrific Senator. He’s honest. He’s decent. He’s got a good heart. Now that he’s not drinking, he’s really reliable”, she said. Jacki went on, “If I lived in Victoria, I would vote for him".

The pair separated for the second time in 1998, however, they highly appreciate each other’s work. Interestingly, Hinch even upgraded his Foxtel subscription recently in order to watch Weaver’s political drama Secret City. The veteran journalist has said that he is greateful for his former wife’s support, acknowledging that it is not often that divorced spouses continue to remain on good terms.
