James Norton, Vanessa Kirby To Star In Agnieszka Holland’s Gareth Jones

McMafia star James Norton and The Crown star Vanessa Kirby has recently joined the cast of Agnieszka Holland’s politically charged new film Gareth Jones. The actors are going to be seen playing the role of bold journalists, in the film. The film is being backed by WestEnd Films.

Moreover, as per latest reports, the film is set in the early 1930s, which is based on real events. Norton plays an ambitious Welsh journalist who attempts to interview dictator Joseph Stalin in Moscow. According to Holland, “The script joins, in a very artistic and original way, a few issues from the 20th century which seem particularly valid today”.

Further, the film will be shot in locations such as Poland, Ukraine and Britain, with principal photography to begin from Feb. 26. Meanwhile, it has been bankrolled by Andrea Serdaru-Barbul, who has also penned the script along with filmmaker Klaudia Smieja, Stanislaw Dziedzic of Film Produkcja, Angus Lamont of Crab Apple Films, and Ukrainian producer Egor Olesov of Kinorob
