Jennifer Hudson To Star As Aretha Franklin In Her Biopic

Hollywood actress and singer Jennifer Hudson is known to have starred in many movies and television shows such as The Voice, American Idol, Sex and the City and The Secret Life of Bees. The actress was last seen in the movie Sandy Wexler. Jennifer has bagged a major upcoming project.

Hudson will be portraying the role of legendary Hollywood singer and songwriter Aretha Franklin in the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic movie. Jennifer is known to have bagged an Oscar for her role in the movie ‘Dreamgirls’. According to news published on variety.com, it is being said that Aretha Franklin personally chose Jennifer Hudson to portray her in the upcoming biopic movie.

The biopic movie will be bankrolled by Scott Bernstein and Harvey Mason under the banner of MGM. Recently, Hudson sang several songs of Franklin such as ‘Think’, ‘Rock Steady’ and ‘Natural Woman’ at the pre-Grammy party.
