Jet Li Confirmed For xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

The Hollywood Reported has confirmed that martial artist Jet Li will be present in the third instalment in the xXx franchise, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. The actor will play “the leader of his own team [who] will square off against Diesel”. A previous update about the project left out Jet Li’s name from the people involved but now it has been confirmed that the actor will be present in the film.

Jet Li was last seen in The Expendables 3 where he played the role of martial arts specialist Yin Yang. The xXx film will bring back Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson from the original film released in 2002. The second part in the franchise stepped away from Vin Diesel as lead and starred Ice Cube instead.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage shooting will commence by the end of this month in Toronto and Philippines. Jet Li will lock horns with Vin Diesel, which would be an interesting matchup. The release date for the film has not been decided as of yet.
