Eli Roth has yet another big-screen film on the horizon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roth, who just signed on to direct Bruce Willis in the Death Wish remake, will also team up with Jim Carrey for the film adaptation of IDW’s Aleister Arcane comic book. Amblin Entertainment is behind the property that also has Jon Coker (The Women in Black 2: Angel of Death) attached as writer.

The original story of Aleister Arcane follows:  a Los Angeles weatherman named Aleister Green who returns to his hometown to host a midnight horror show a la Elvira. Under the guise of a mad scientist named Aleister Arcane, Green performed little skits until the local sponsors balked at the gore. An incident with two kids leads to him to be put on trial, breaking his spirit, and into an early grave. Not long after, grisly activities begin to occur and only the kids have the power to thwart the curse he has laid upon their town.

The original story was written by Steve Niles with Breehn Burns doing the art. Jon Croker (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) will write the script, while Carrey will star and executive produce. No word yet on when filming will take place or what the expected release date is.
