If recent reports are to be trusted, British novelist J.K. Rowling and filmmaker David Yates are set to team up once again after collaborating for the first movie in the Harry Potter spin-off series Fantastic Beasts. Scheduled for release on November 18, the movie is based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is one of the companion books to Rowling's Harry Potter franchise. The film of the same name as that of the book stars Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne as the male lead. The actor will be essaying the role of Newton Scamander, a magizoologist who arrives in New York in 1926 and encounters threats from the non-magical humans in the city.

Recent reports suggest that Rowling will also write the script for the sequel of the movie. Yates, who has helmed the last four Harry Potter films (5-8) will wield the megaphones for the second instalment too. The second part is scheduled for a 2018 release.

The first movie will start in New York around 1920; 70 years before the Harry Potter series. In his hunt for magical creatures since 1918, the protagonist of the flick will be seen travelling the world. Reportedly, the adaptation of Rowling's book will be a trilogy.
