After E! News confirmed that Amber Heard filed for divorce; Johnny Depp is breaking his silence. “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” a representative for Depp said on Thursday. “Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly,” he added.

According to TMZ, the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement and Heard requested spousal support. Later, TMZ reported that Depp had already responded via his lawyer Laura Wasser, asking to reject Heard's request. California law provides for a six-month waiting period before any divorce can be finalized.
