    London, May 7 -- Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie has been given honorary citizenship of Sarajevofor drawing attention to the area in her directorial venture In the Land of Blood and Honey. Praisingher efforts for highlighting the issues of that area in her film, which tells the love story of a Serbiansoldier and a Bosnian woman, the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton Parliament has decided to award the36-year-old actress with a special citizenship prize, Contactmusic.com reported. Jolie was given thehonorary citizenship on May 3 at Sarajevo's National Theatre but the actress could not come to attendthe ceremony. However, she thanked the Sarajevo government for the citizenship in a pre-recordedvideo message. "I am deeply grateful to the citizens of Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Canton assembly forbestowing upon me this incredible honour of citizenship. I am so proud to now be a part of such anextraordinary part of the world and fellow citizen to the people I deeply love and admire," she said. Theheroine added, "I wish I could be there with all of you tonight, and I look forward to visiting in July whenI can properly accept and personally express my gratitude."
