    Jon Favreau’s 'The Jungle Book' has left the competition far behind, opening with $103 million over the weekend. The movie tells the familiar tale in an unfamiliar way with characters voiced by Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken and Bill Murray. Ice Cube’s ‘Barbershop: The Next Cut’ came is second with an opening of $20 million.

    ‘Barbershop: The Next Cut’ has been directed by Malcolm D. Lee and stars Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Common and Nicki Minaj. The Melissa McCarthy starrer ‘The Boss’, which took the box office cake last weekend, came down two spots with $10.7 million. Developed over a budget of $29 million, it has now pooled in $44 million worldwide.

    'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' still holds a spot on the weekend box office top five list with its $9 million. The movie saw its fourth weekend and has grossed $827 million worldwide. The animated flick ‘Zootopia’ made the cut with its $8.2 million. It has been on screens for 7 weekends and has earned $882 million globally.
