Justice League Sequel Making Room For The Batman

Justice League Sequel Making Room For The Batman

The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that the release date for Zack Snyder’s Justice League sequel has been postponed to make room for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film. The movie has been tentatively titled 'The Batman' and will have Affleck reprise his role as the caped crusader. Snyder will instead work on ‘The Last Photograph’ after Justice League.

The current plan for Snyder suggests that the filming for ‘The Last Photograph’ should commence sometime next year. The movie was first announced nearly 10 years ago but Snyder has been quite busy with other projects. The screenplay for the film is being written by Kurt Johnstad who also worked with Snyder on both ‘300’ films.

On the other hand, Affleck is directing and acting in his solo Batman flick, after putting on the cape for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ which released earlier this year. He then made a short appearance in ‘Suicide Squad’. He will be writing the screenplay for the solo film along with Geoff Johns.

While there has been no official announcement, it is speculated that The Batman will release on June 14, 2019 which was initially the release date for the Justice League sequel. ‘Justice League’ will be released on November 17 next year.
