Lee Daniels’ The Butler doing well at the box office; beats Kick-Ass 2

Forest Whitaker starrer Lee Daniels’ The Butler is doing really well at the box office. The film is an inspiration from the life of an American-African butler who used to serve at the White house. The distributors of the film said that they were not expecting the flick to do so well. A spokesperson of distributors said, “We did not expect it to do this well.” The film has so far earned $25 million and is still going strong.

The film has trumped its co-release, Kick-Ass 2 ($13.5 million). The Weinstein Company's Erik Lomis has said that Oprah Winfrey’s presence in Lee Daniels’ The Butler is the key ingredient that has taken this film to new heights. Another flick, The Miller has managed to do well after Lee Daniels’ The Butler. The film is produced by Warner Bros. and is amusing viewers with its amazing comedy sequences.
