Leonardo DiCaprio is well known for his drive towards a better world. He has been involved in several humanitarian programmes and also spoke about the safety of the environment in his Oscar speech. The actor recently attended the UN ceremony where the leaders of 171 nations joined together to come up with a plan for the betterment of the environment.

DiCaprio urged the world leaders who signed the Paris climate deal to stick to their commitments and said, “The world is now watching. You will either be lauded by future generations or vilified by them”. According to a report in IndianExpress.com, the 41-year-old actor stated, “We can congratulate each other today, but it will mean absolutely nothing if you return to your countries and fail to push beyond the promises of this historic agreement. Now is the time for bold, unprecedented action”.

DiCaprio also shared that the number of people who were present at the signing is a sign of hope and that the Paris climate deal should be the first of many. “Our planet cannot be saved unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground, where they belong. Look at the delegates around you. It is time to ask each other what side of history will you be on”, the report further quoted the actor.
