Li Bingbing on for Michael Bay’s Transformers 4

Paramount Pictures has come up with yet another addition of Chinese actress Li Bingbing to the cast ofTransformers 4. This film is the fourth installment in the Transformers series withLorenzo di Bonaventura producing the film and Michael Bay is to give direction to the sci-fi adventure. It is said that the casting of the actress is done to increase Chinese interest in Hollywood.

The Resident Evil: Retribution’s actress Bingbing says that she is thrilled to work with Michael Bay. She continued her statement saying, “Transformers’ has influenced generations in China and the movie franchise has a massive fan base. I am very happy to be able to join this international production. Thank you Paramount for the invitation! Looking forward to it!” The character of the40-year-old isnot revealed yet but surely she will not be playing a helpless damsel in distress.

The director is also excited to have Bingbing in his venture. He quoted, “I am excited to have Li Bingbing join our cast and to be shooting portions of the movie in her native China.” She will be joining the already signed cast of Kelsey Grammer, Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Sophia Myles. The flick is scheduled to release on June 27, 2014.
