Meet The New Joker - Joaquin Phoenix

Here comes the most awaited news of the year! Recently, American director Todd Phillips, Instagrammed about Joaquin Phoenix playing Joker in a standalone movie that talks about the iconic Batman villain. Phillips posted a picture featuring Joaquin Phoenix in a green jacket with a smirk and captioned it “Arthur”.

It is surprising to not see those green locks, purple suit and a gritty devil face. That’s not Joker we visualize.  This film is said to be an exploration of a man who is disregarded by the society. Also, it is not just an in-depth character study but a broader cautionary tale. Above all, it is the journey of a stand -up comedian to a most wanted criminal.

Further, this standalone movie on Joker is an entirely new set up that is far cry from the plot established by DC Comics’ extended universe.  Also, the script is written by Todd Phillips and Scott Silver. Moreover, the movie may star Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Marc Maron. While the movie is set for release in October 2019.
