Michael Douglas joins star cast of Marvel Studios’s Ant-Man

Hollywood star Michael Douglas is riding high on success. Last weekend, he earned a Golden Globe Award for ‘Behind the Candelabra’ and now it is learnt that the actor is signed in by Marvel Studios for a project titled Ant-Man. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ President made a statement, “With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves.”

He continued saying, “We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.” Edgar Wright will direct the upcoming British-American superhero film based on Marvel Comics. Kevin Feige will finance the venture, while Paul Rudd will star in the project along with Michael. Walt Disney Studios and Motion Pictures have received the distribution rights of the film, releasing on July 31 next year.
