Midnight's Children to hit Indian theaters on Feb. 1

Indian-origin Hollywood filmmaker Deepa Mehta's much-awaited filmMidnight's Childrenwill be released in India on February 1. The film, which is based on noted author Salman Rushdie's renowned novel of the same name, is being released in the country by the PVR Pictures.

Kamal Gianchandani, President, PVR Pictures, confirmed it in a statement, "DistributingMidnight's Childrenis a big honour. Deepa is an exceptionally brave filmmaker andMidnight's Childrenis a very special gem from her. We are absolutely delighted to announce 1st February 2013 as the India release date".
