New Free State of Jones Movie Trailer Released

The upcoming Matthew McConaughey starrer ‘Free State of Jones’ has got a new trailer, released by STX Entertainment. The Civil War action drama is based on true events and has been directed by Gary Ross. Matthew shares screen space with Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Keri Russell and Mahershala Ali, among others.

The Interstellar actor plays the role of Newt Knight, a defiant Southern farmer. He forms an army comprising of small farmers and local slaves to take a stand against the Confederacy. They fight for the freedom of Jones County, Mississippi to create a Free State of Jones. Along with the direction, Gary has also written the script for the film.

Scott Stuber, Jon Kilik and Ross have produced the project which will be released on June 24. The cast for ‘Free State of Jones’ also includes Sean Bridgers, Jacob Lofland, Christopher Berry and Liza J. Bennett. The executive producers include Oren Aviv, Michael Bassick, Robin Bissell, Lenny Feder, Adam Fogelson and several others.
