    Fox Searchlight has released an official trailer for the upcoming flick Demolition starring Jake Gyllenhaal. It will be the opening night film at the Toronto International Film Festival. Jake will play the role of a successful investment banker who is trying to cope with the tragic loss of his wife.

    The trailer begins with Jake writing a letter to a vending machine company, complaining about a certain malfunction in one of the machines. After losing his wife in a car accident, he decided to follow, quite literally, his father in law’s advice on how to fix things by taking them apart and finding what was wrong. The movie will be released on April 8 next year.

    Demolition will be directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, who stated talked about the movie when it was first announced and said, “Demolition’ is such a powerful and touching story. Written with a strong and sincere desire to try to understand the human psyche, what makes us so unique, so special, what makes us love. This is a script of a rare quality, of a beautiful humanity. The movie will be produced by Lianne Halfon, Sidney Kimmel, Thad Luckinbill, Trent Luckinbill and John Malkovich.
