    Patriot Day Movie Ropes In J.K. Simmons

    CBS Films and Lionsgate have revealed that Whiplash actor J.K. Simmons will be joining the cast of the upcoming Patriots Day movie. He will be joining Mark Wahlberg and the movie will be directed by Peter Berg. Patriots Day will focus on the events that took place during the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing.

    The director spoke about Simmons’ involvement and said, “Beyond his considerable talents, J.K. Simmons is a person who respects the solemn trust that these real life heroes are putting in our hands. This is an actor who will represent the role in the best way possible”. The production will commence this fall in Boston.

    Simmons has been roped in to play Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese of the Watertown Police Department. Mark will be playing a Boston Police Department officer who is a pivotal part of the investigation. The movie will be produced by Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Hutch Parker, Scott Stuber, Dylan Clark and Michael Radutzky.
