Sad news for Fast and Furious franchise’s fans as Universal Pictures has decided to discontinue production of the seventh instalment as Paul Walker’s accidental death has made it almost impossible for the production house to proceed with the project right now.

A spokesperson from Universal issued a statement saying, “Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended ‘Fast & Furious’ family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on ‘Fast & Furious 7′ for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.”

The statement added more, “We are committed to keeping ‘Fast & Furious’ fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.” Latest reports have also revealed that the Los Angeles County coroner's office has concluded that both Paul Walker and Roger Rodas have died of multiple traumatic and thermal injuries. The autopsy reports have confirmed the same on Wednesday, December 4, though the toxicologyresults may take some more time to arrive. The funeral services for Rodas and Walker are not yet planned and according to sources Walker’s close friend Tyrese Gibson is standing beside the bereaved Walker family in their trying times.
