Poltergeist slated for release in India on May 22

Poltergeist will be released in India on May 22. The horror film is the remake of the 1982 film of the same name. The flick will also have a Hindi dubbed version. The movie will be released both in 2D and 3D.

"Taking into account the popularity of the horror genre in India dubbing the movie in Hindi is believed to reach wider audience", read a statement. The remake brings a twist into the plot, where a family is haunted by evil forces in their home. When the evil forces troubling the family cross the line and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she vanishes forever.

The flick has been produced by Sam Raimi. The movie has been helmed by Monster House and City of Ember director Gil Kenan. The film also features e Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino, Jane Adams, Kyle Catlett and Kennedi Clements.
