Taylor Swift's pop hit ‘Shake It Off’ from her album ‘1989’, which released in October, 2014, became a global hit. And now, actress Reese Witherspoon is covering the song for the soundtrack of an upcoming 3D computer-animated musical comedy film ‘Sing’. Reportedly, the movie has over 85 classic songs from famous artists.

Witherspoon will be teaming up with comedian Nick Kroll for the 2-minute EDM-remixed cover of ‘Shake It Off’. Witherspoon voices a stay-at-home pig Rosita who sacrifices her dreams to raise her 25 piglets. Kroll voices a talented pig Gunter in the Garth Jennings directorial.

Grammy Award-winner Harvey Mason Jr. was quoted as saying, “People will already know a lot of songs in the film. And with that you always run the risk of failing when covers are compared to the originals. However, we've done some unique things here so that people hopefully will walk away thinking of these as new songs”. On a related note, ‘Sing’ will be released by Universal Pictures on December 21 in the US.
